DomainScan upgrade informationIf you’re upgrading DomainScan to a version that contains an newer revision of the database engine (
GDB), then DomainScan Service will automatically perform an on-the-fly database upgrade.
Until the upgrade has been completed, the new version of DomainScan Client may be set in read-only mode as it has to wait for the upgrade to complete before it can alter database settings.
In DomainScan v2.73 / DomainScan v6.52 and later, the main registry key is
DomainScan /
DomainScan Standard. The installer will automatically upgrade the registry keys. After this upgrade, older versions of DomainScan will not be able to read registry settings
When upgrading to DomainScan v2.83 / DomainScan v6.63 (or later), one may experience that the TCP Port list and the list of allowed devices that can make modifications may be reset.
Upgrade from NetScanG:In order to upgrade from NetScanG v5.x to DomainScan, one must manually uninstall NetScanG (remember to stop the service prior to uninstallation).
Install DomainScan normally, and once the Setup Wizard asks for a default database, simply point to the NetScanG database file, which will then be used.
Uninstall1.
